Upper Bann MP David Simpson has congratulated both the organisers of the Mullahead Ploughing Match and all of the winners at Saturday’s mammoth event.

Speaking after attending the event David Simpson said: “Once again this year the Mullahead Ploughing match proved to be one of the jewels in Northern Ireland tourism and cultural crown and was another triumph for everyone involved in planning and running it.

“This year we had another outstanding insight into farming and rural life and the many thousands of visitors were treated to a wonderful family day out.

“I want to commend the organisers who have put so much hard work into making this yet another resounding success.

“I also want to commend everyone to competed in the various classes and congratulate the winners.

“Once again the entire community owes a tremendous debt of gratitude to the Richardson family on whose Moyallen Estate this event is held annually. They give a tremendously warm welcome to one and all and I would like to offer my personal thanks to them for their continued support for this event.

“I know that planning will have already begun for next year’s event and I want to wish the Mullahead and District Ploughing Society every continued success for the future.”
