Entries increase for Castlewellan Show

Over 4,000 entries have been received for this year’s Castlewellan Show which takes place on July 13.

With a number of national championships running including the prestigious All Ireland Bull & Heifer Derby Limousin final, National Hereford Show, Beef Shorthorn National Championship, British Blue Derby, Blonde Calf Championship and Hampshire Down final, the standards are higher than ever.

There has been a strong entry in the sheep and equine classes with the Coolmore Search for a Young Horse competition proving very popular. A lot of interest has been generated in the two day goat event with poultry still attracting exhibitors of all ages.

In the home industries and family section, almost 800 entries have been received where the Family Fun Billy Goat’s Gruff models and scarecrows will be in abundance. You can check out a list of attractions, stalls and exhibitors online at www.castlewellanshow.com
