FOUR lucky students from New Bridge Integrated College have been invited to represent their school at a pan-European trade fair for young entrepreneurs in Zurich later this month.
The trade fair, which is organised by Young Enterprise and Junior Achievement, gives Company Programme students the opportunity to market their products to a wider audience, and to learn about business in an international context.
Now in its 25th year, Company Programme partners students with business advisors, who support them in establishing and running a business throughout the academic year.
The company ‘Healthy Highs’, which has already enjoyed considerable success recently at Young Enterprise local trade fairs at the Outlet Village and Rushmere Shopping Centre, aims to promote a healthy lifestyle as well as encouraging local trade through the medium of their ‘Healthy Lifestyle Planner’.
The four students will be accompanied by Michael Young from Tele Pizza, their Company Programme business advisor.
During their visit to Zurich, students will be competing for some prestigious awards, including the Accenture Enterprise without Borders Collaboration Award, the UBS Responsible Business Award and the KPMG Client Service Award.
Cathy Morrison, Senior Development Manager at Young Enterprise Northern Ireland, commented: “We are thrilled to afford this opportunity to the Newbridge students. It’s a terrific way to build upon the success that they have already enjoyed, and provides an important learning experience. In our modern business world, with improved communication and logistics like never before, any company can become global, theoretically.
“All at Young Enterprise Northern Ireland wishes Healthy Highs every success at the European Trade Fair, and hope that they have an enjoyable first business trip abroad.”
