Double celebration for all at Dromara Primary School

Dromara Primary School celebrated two important events recently '“ the publication of a glowing inspection report and a visit to the school by the Education Minister, Peter Weir MLA.

Speaking after the Minister’s visit to the school, Principal, Andrew Armstrong, said: “I am delighted that Dromara Primary School received the highest overall standard in the recent focussed inspection.

“This is testament to the commitment and dedication of all of the staff at the school who work exceptionally hard to ensure that our pupils are receiving the best possible learning experiences.

“The Inspection Report certainly provides a validation of all the very good work that goes on in Dromara Primary School.”

The Inspection focused on three areas: children’s achievements in literacy and numeracy, the overall quality of provision for learning in the school; and the quality of leadership and management, all of which were assessed as ‘Very Good’. The inspectors found that, overall the school has a‘high level of capacity for sustained improvement.’

After his visit Mr Weir said, “I really enjoyed my visit to Dromara Primary. I commend the teachers and staff on the excellent work that is going on at the school and wish them every success for the future.”
