Donaghcloney’s multi use games area is to receive floodlights and a re-surfacing under a new £20,000 upgrade.

Upper Bann MP David Simpson has welcomed the agreement to undertake the work, which is hoped to be completed by the end of March.

Speaking David Simpson MP said: “The multi-use games area has served the local community well and has established itself into a vital part of the community.

“The DUP have lobbied hard to push for this investment following a slow deterioration of the area. I want to thank Councillor Mark Baxter and the local community for their determination to drive this £20,000 investment.”

Local DUP Councillor Mark Baxter also welcomed the investment: “I want to echo the words of our MP as this is a fantastic boost for the local area.

“Many concerns were raised about the state of the area and I am delighted that the Council have listened and taken action.

“The £20,000 will be used to provide floodlights, re-surfacing and general maintenance around the area.

“It is anticipated that the work will reach completion by the end of March.”
