Dobson: Her Majesty reigns “Happy and Glorious”

Ulster Unionist MLA Jo-Anne Dobson MLA has described Her Majesty’s sixty year reign as ‘Happy and Glorious.’

Marking the Diamond Jubilee Mrs Dobson said, “On 6 February 1952 Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II ascended the Throne. Sixty years on she is our second-longest reigning Monarch and with God’s help will surpass Queen Victoria’s record of 63 years and 216 days.

“Last month I wrote to Her Majesty The Queen to express, on a personal level and on behalf of my constituents, our heartiest congratulations on reaching this important milestone in her reign.

“Her Majesty is truly an inspiration to all and admired both locally and around the world. In my letter I wished our Queen good health for the future and said that we are all looking forward to her forthcoming visit to Northern Ireland as part of the Jubilee Tour.

“In Her written response to my letter The Queen offered Her best wishes to the people of Upper Bann and offered everyone a most memorable and enjoyable Jubilee Year.

“May God Bless Her Majesty and grant Her many more years to reign over us.”
