Delays as fallen trees block roads

There have been reports of widespread traffic disruption and fallen trees this morning (Thursday) after Storm Doris hit last night.
A large tree has completely blocked the road between Banbridge and Gilford from approximately 7am.

Fallen trees and branches have affected a number of roads including the Tullylish Road in Gilford, the Northway, Portadown and Featherbed Road at its junction with the Brankinstown Road in Aghalee.

Other roads listed by TransportNI which are blocked/partially blocked due to fallen trees in the southern area include Killylea Road and Maydown Road, Armagh;

Banbridge Road, Gilford; Lismore Manor, Craigavon; Glenanne Road, Markethill and Dromore Road, Lurgan.

Traffic lights were also reported to be out at the Silverwood junction in Lurgan, with motorists urged to exercise caution.

TransportNI said its staff are working at present to clear as much of the storm debris as quickly as possible.
