Man struck in face with golf club

A MAN was hit in the face with a golf club after being asked for a cigarette.

The 57-year-old said he was approached by a man aged around 20 at the Ballygowan Road at 1.15am on Monday.

The attacker is described as being tall, of thin build, with short sandy hair. The victim said he was asked for a cigarette by the man before being struck on the side of the face with a golf club.
