Fine for man who threw cones into passing traffic

A 22-year-old man who threw traffic cones into passing traffic was fined £100 last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court for disorderly behaviour.

Connor Quigley, Edenderry Park, Banbridge, was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that at 4.30pm police were called to Newry Street in Banbridge where two males were being abusive to passers-by and throwing traffic cones into oncoming traffic.

The co-accused was dealt with at an earlier court and received a suspended sentence.

He had a long record.

A solicitor representing Quigley said the offence was very foolish and aggravated by alcohol.

Fining the defendant District Judge Amanda Brady told him he had been ‘making a nuisance’ of himself but he had no disorderly behaviour offences on his record.
