A BANBRIDGE businessman has said issues with lawless drivers and anti-social behaviour are not being dealt with by local police.
The unnamed trader made the claims in a letter to the DPP in which he described “vehicles operating without adherence to the law” in the Commercial Road car park.
In response to his plea for help Inspector Jaqui Gillespie said the police had received “very few” calls about the area.
“I would have liked the opportunity to discuss the matter with the author of the letter but his concerns have been passed to the Roads Policing Unit and they will pay attention to the area.”
Inspector Gillespie reiterated that police will visit the areas highlighted to them by members of the public.
