THE police have been commended for their work in the recent badger-baiting investigation in Laurencetown.
Local DPP member David Griffin praised police at the recent meeting in public, however he asked whether there is much local knowledge on the problem and if information from the public is passed to the police.
Inspector Jacqui Gillespie revealed that the local PSNI have not received many calls on the matter but appealed for people to pass on whatever information they may have.
“Where people are suspicious, please call us,” she said. “We can really tackle this problem with the help of the community.”
