Countdown to 10k run in aid of PIPS begins

A registration night is being held for the Rathfriland 10k on Thursday (September 19) at 7pm in Square 15 coffee shop, Church Square.

Entrants will be able be come along, pay their fee of £10 (10k runners), and receive their running number, map and information sheet.

Excitement is building for the town’s first ever 10k/5k fun run and walk on Saturday, September 28, in aid of local charity PIPS Newry and Mourne. The event is being supported by Rathfriland Regeneration and their Chairman Mr Pat Rafferty said he would like to see as much money raised as possible for PIPS.

The event kicks off at 4.45pm in the Square with a memorial balloon launch before the run gets underway at 5pm.

People can enter right up until race day at Square 15 - and on the day itself from 3pm in the Square. 10k entrants must be minimum 16 years of age and the 10k route is restricted to runners only. Anyone walking will complete the shorter 5k route. Entrants are encouraged to dress up. The cost of entering is £10 per 10k runner, and £5 for fun run/walkers - or families £10.
