Northern Bank apologises to customers

NORTHERN Bank has apologised to customers who faced problems with their accounts this morning, and have assured them all issues have been resolved.

Direct debits and credit payments were not showing as having been paid from accounts on Monday morning, but the bank said the issue was quickly fixed.

Banbridge customers contacted the Leader about the problems, with one 25-year-old mum saying her direct debits had not gone out of her account and friends had not received their usual child benefit payments.

A spokesman for Northern Bank said, “Due to a technical issue, some Northern Bank customers experienced a delay in payments being processed to their accounts this morning.  The payments relate to direct debits and credit payments.
“We have identified the cause of the issue and invoked backup processes to rectify the issue quickly. All payments have now been corrected.
“We apologise sincerely for any inconvenience caused to customers.”
