Clare Medland of Rolltack in Dromore has been named as a finalist in this year’s Women in Business NI Awards.
Finalists met recently at the Galgorm Resort and Spa for the annual retreat ahead of the awards ceremony on Thursday 20 November.
The day began with Christine Boyle, Managing Director of Lawell Roofing, giving an honest account of the highs and lows of running a successful construction business pre, during and post recession.
She talked about diversification, staffing, her achievements and about keeping it real.
Christine was followed by Sue McAllister, the Director General of the Northern Ireland Prison Service, who left the awards finalists with her own top 10 tips on leadership and principles that led to her success.
Make-up artist Ciara Daly and Dr Roger Brown of 352 Healthcare shared their insights on looking after yourself.
One focused on the outside the other on the inside before the finalists had the opportunity to take part in facilitated networking.
Roseann Kelly, Chief Executive of Women in Business NI, said: “The retreat is an integral part of being shortlisted for a Women in Business NI Award.
“It’s proven to be a real benefit to those who attend every year as they come together for a day to focus on their business, what they’ve achieved and to share experiences and challenges.
“They come away with deep connections and learning from a peer group that has grown to 120+ Alumnae in the three years of the Retreat. The WIBNI Award Finalistist Alumnae will be brought back together for further connections and peer support at least twice each year.
“We wish all our finalists well and look forward to announcing the winners of our fourth annual awards next Thursday night.”
