Local Gilford man Steven Preston has said that the money raised at his fundraising event will go to Help for Heroes and that he is hoping for a complete sell out with 800 tickets almost gone.

Speaking prior to the event, Steven Preston said: “This is a unique boxing event called Battle of the Banville being held in the Banville Hotel on 4th March 2016.

“Tickets can be ordered via Facebook page “Battle of the Banville” and all proceeds will go towards Help for Heroes.

“I hope to raise in excess of £10,000 for this great cause. Doors will open at 7:30pm and the event will start at 8:00pm sharp.

“I would really like to see a complete sell out.

“The main fight of the night will be Jordan fisher against myself (Steven ‘the punisher’ Preston).

“Jordan is from South Belfast and won the Belfast dockers title a few months ago. It is going to be a big night out and I would welcome your attendance.”

DUP members have said they want to help promote the event and wish Steven every success with it. Speaking on the issue Cllr Carla Lockhart said: “Steven has a real passion to help the very well known and highly regarded charity Help for Heroes.

“This is commendable and I would encourage as many as possible to support his exciting and fun event and give generously to this great cause.”
