Three local men facing attempted burglary charge

Three men have been returned for trial to Newry Crown Court charged with attempted burglary and going equipped for theft.

They are Christopher Abbott (29), Lurgan Road, Banbridge, Paul Daniel Bingham (25), Chestnut Place, Banbridge, and Christopher Owens (34), Thornhill Drive, Dromore.

All three are charged with attempting to enter a dwelling at Huntly Road, Banbridge, on November 24 last year with intent to steal and going equipped with a crowbar, a screwdriver, a torch, gloves and balaclavas.

The appeared at a preliminary enquiry last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court. All three were remanded on their own bail of £750 to appear for arraignment at Newry Crown Court on November 1.

A condition of their bail is that they are not to enter Huntley Road in Banbridge.
