Motor business owner in court

A 37-year-old man who is in the motor business was fined £350 last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court for driving without insurance on May 27 this year.

Karl Lindsay, Carrickasticken Road, Forkhill, was also given six points and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard the offence came to light when he was stopped at a checkpoint on the A1 dual carriageway.

A check revealed there was no insurance in place for the vehicle.

A solicitor representing Lindsay said he was the owner of a motoring business along with his brother.

She explained that his insurance had recently expired at the time and he was getting a new quote.It was a genuine misunderstanding, added the solicitor.
