Alwyn Hanna (49), Dunbarton Bungalows, Gilford, was also fined £75 and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy for using a mobile phone while driving on June 6 this year.

A fine of £75 was imposed for not having a vehicle test certificate.

Hanna did not appear in court but a public prosecutor said that an adjournment notice had previously been sent to the defendant but no licence had been lodged with the court.

The court heard that at 10.30am the defendant was seen driving on the Banbridge Road in Lurgan.

Police noticed that he was speaking on the phone while driving. It also transpired his vehicle test certificate had expired on April 22. He had no record.

District Judge, Mr Peter King, said that because there was no licence in court there had to be a disqualification imposed.
