Community ‘shocked’ by death

A DUP councillor has said the Tobermore community has been left ‘shocked and saddened’ by the death of a local woman.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the 50-year-old death’s, which is understood to have happened yesterday morning.

She is understood to be a mother-of-four and her home at Calmore Road in the village has been sealed off by the police since Thursday.

Councillor Anne Forde said her thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.

“This is a very highly respected family in the Tobermore community,” she said. “The news of this tragic incident has caused great shock.”

The police are expected to release a statement later.
