A devout Christian who lived for family

Mrs Eileen Dunlop passed away at Daisy Hill Hospital on Monday, July 8.

She was the dearly loved wife of William Dunlop. They had resided at Dougan Place, Tullyheenan and, until recently, at Bannview Nursing Home.

She was the daughter of the late Edmund and Elizabeth McDowell who resided on the Rathfriland Road.

Eileen had worked for a time at Ferguson’s Mill but had left to bring up her family.

A devout Christian she attended worship in Banbridge Free Presbyterian Church but her main interest was centred around her home and family and it is there that her passing will be mostly felt.

She sustained a great loss when her son William passed away in 1996 and this left a deep void in the family.

She is survived by three sons: Alan (Lurgan), George (Banbridge) and Mark (Waringstown); two daughters: Eileen Rathfriland) and Helen (Moneyslane), grandchildren, great grandchildren, two brothers Thomas and Ernest McDowell (Banbridge) and sister Nannie (Canada).

To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

The funeral took place from the home of her daughter, Helen, at 130 Dromara Road, Moneyslane, Ballyroney on Thursday, July 11, to the New Cemetery.

Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu of flowers may be sent, if desired, to William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for Level 5 at Daisy Hill Hospital. (Cheques made payable to William Bell and Co.).

William Bell and Co. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
