A SINISTER paramilitary group which claims to be fully armed and ready to attack is threatening to take to the streets of Rathfriland.
The shadowy British Defence Organisation posted a chilling warning on the internet after our exclusive story which showed young people doing laps of Rathfriland Square while sitting on the roof of a car.
"It would seem that Rathfriland is a lawless place at night," said a BDO spokesperson.
"It's claimed to be a loyalist town, yet they break Her Majesty's Laws. Seems the BDO need to install a company or have a battalion overseeing what is going on in this reckless town.
"I have caught word that the police rarely are in the town at night. Well the company or battalion we will put in charge of over-looking what goes on will inform the police and present video evidence. You are a disgrace to your British heritage."
The BDO says it formed to protect the UK and its Commonwealth areas. "We will tackle terrorism in the UK, Muslim extremists and will assist the British armed forces if necessary," said the spokesperson.

"We will also tackle organised crime gangs and drug dealers, taking them off the streets and putting them behind bars. We take no prisoners and are fully armed and ready to defend and attack."
Local SDLP councillor Seamus Doyle has condemned the group's comments and has called on the police to investigate the matter.
"This group thinks they can come to Rathfriland and police the streets. Well I can them they will have no support in the town," said Mr Doyle.
"Rathfriland residents have been successful in recent years sorting out its own problems, the people certainly don't need help from groups like this.
"It is very worrying that a group, which claims to have guns, is trying to move into the town."
Meanwhile, Banbridge police have said they are now aware of the development and will be launching an investigation.

Bergie,

In a bunker because I'm scared! (No, not a coal bu 13/05/2008 20:18:44
Well, well, well, we have the potential for a company (120 men) or a battalion (750 men) from the distinguished BDO patrolling the lawless streets of Rathfriland, armed to the teeth and carrying video cameras. Is it me or does this sound like some poor soul fixated on an army career but failed because of a terminal attack of in growing toe nail, who has finally tipped over the edge of sanity and into the abyss of madness?

So the perceived logic behind this threat is that upstanding members (and I use that term loosely, it's hard to be upstanding having consumed 6 or 8 litres of cheap cider) of the rather grand sounding British Defense Organization take the law (and that would be British law) into their own hands to become the very thing they wish to eradicate - law breakers! I'm sorry but Mr. Spock cannot see the logic in that.

On a more positive note; I am sure the Ministry of Defense would be delighted to avail of the services of a battalion of armed militia to serve in defense of the Crowns interests in Iraq and Afghanistan. The BDO might even relieve my old regiment by helping reduce the turnaround time for their redeployment in these areas.

Their ya go guys, how’s about that? You mentioned Muslims, although I doubt there are too many doing handbrake turns in John Deere's in the square in Rathfriland, although I could be wrong. It could be a cynical Al Quidea plot to turn our countrymen on one another! I should warn you though that in the vast expanses of Afghanistan or the crowded streets of Basra the natives have a disturbing habit of firing back!

My advice to the BDO is quite simple, you need to get out more, get a girlfriend or even a boyfriend, take up bowls or something but please get a life. If you would take a little time to listen to yourself you would be embarrassed at how ridiculous you sound. I'm embarrassed for you for goodness sake.

As for the press, well, giving some poor individual who has gathered up the courage to emerge from the
