Summer memories wanted for project

An Isle of Man production company is appealing to local holiday-makers who spent summer vacations on the island to be part of a media project.

A spokesperson for Lido Summers Ltd, the company behind the project, said, “Did you ever spend any of your summer holidays in the Isle of Man during the 1970s, either on vacation or actually working in the holiday industry?

“Do you remember Sunday nights at the Palace Lido watching Slade, Sweet, Mott the Hoople and many others. Do you still remember your Summer romances? Did you walk hand in hand under the sun along a golden beach to a soundtrack that included the Glitter Band ‘Love

In the Sun’, Bobby Goldsborough ‘Summer The First Time’, Bay City Rollers ‘Summer Love Sensation’?

“Did you spend winters exchanging letters with someone you met on holiday? Did you stay in touch? If you’ve answered yes to even one of these questions, we really want to hear from you! We would love to hear about your memories and stories from that period. Please email your experiences to lidosummers@manx.net.”
