SPOOKY GOINGS ON AT DONAGHCLONEY LEGION HALL

AS you will no doubt be aware the clocks went back during the middle of the night on Sunday.

But in Donaghcloney time has been mysteriously going forward in the village's Royal British Legion branch.

With Halloween just around the corner, patrons in the bar one Saturday night thought that their eyes were deceiving them when they saw the clock spinning round.

However as video footage, which you can see on our websites - www.banbridgeleader.co.uk and www.dromoreleader.co.uk - shows, there was something a little bit weird going on.

"One minute we were having a drink, the next it was five past two," joked one customer.

"I noticed out of the corner of my eye that the clock had started to spin and I thought 'that's weird'. I thought it was even more strange when it stopped suddenly at five past two.

"This happened quite a few times so I caught it on my phone so I could watch it back and make sure my eyes were not playing tricks on me.

"I have to admit that it did give me the creeps because it was just starting randomly and stopping at 2:05. It could well have just been a dodgy battery, but a battery wouldn't make the clock do that - would it?"

The chairman of the branch, George Savage, said he wasn't aware of anything sinister going on in the Legion.

"Nothing has been reported to me and certainly nobody has approached me about it," said Mr Savage, who is also an Ulster Unionist MLA for the Upper Bann area.

The building itself has been in the village from the 1940's and in the 1980's it had an extension added.

So are there spooky goings on in Donaghcloney? It's probably nothing but don't forget that recently a house was demolished in the village - Ghost Lodge.
