The recent sale of Tullymacarette Primary School has prompted a former pupil to take a trip down memory lane.
John Kelly also attended the open night at the Primary School on Friday June 1 2007 and an emotional final assembly a few days later on Thursday June 21 2007 to mark the closure.
The decision to close the school was taken after only 14 children were enrolled and no children at all in Year 1.
A spokesperson for the SELB said: “the property has been disposed of at auction, and the sale is complete”.
The former Primary School situated on 0.82 acres, includes school buildings of approximately 2200 sq ft and was sold without the benefit of any planning consents. The premises had been boarded up and included a former tarmac playing surface and grass area to the rear.
Offers were in the region of £75,000. The school opened its doors in 1939.
