EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: NELSON SPEAKS OF PLAQUE REMOVAL CONCERN

IN an exclusive video interview leading Orangeman Drew Nelson has told Leader reporter Ruth Rodgers of his serious concern at the removal of paintings and plaques from public areas of Banbridge Civic Building.

Representatives of the Orange Order in Banbridge district will hand in a letter at the town's Civic Building on Monday night demanding the restoration of plaques and pictures to their original locations.

The Leader last week revealed that items had been moved from public areas to the chairman's room, access to which is by invitation only, before the end to the public consultation on the flying of flags and display of emblems.

It is understood the letter will be submitted by County Grand Secretary Richard Fleming on behalf of approximately 50 Orange Lodges in the council area.

Here Dromore businessman Drew Nelson gives his views on the matter.

Banbridge Council declined our invitation to put forward someone to speak on the issue.
