Gallery to open for summer Sundays

The F.E. McWilliam Gallery and Studio in Banbridge will open every Sunday until 26 August 2012.

Every Sunday throughout June visitors dining in Quails café between 1pm and 3pm will be treated to a special musical performance by local musician Kim Lennon who will play many well-known tunes on the violin.

Kim has just finished a three-year music degree at the University of Ulster and although classically trained, she has played at weddings and performed with various folk groups over the years.

The current ‘Blackshaw at 80’ exhibition, which features a collection of over 40 paintings chosen by the artist from throughout his career, will continue to be displayed in the gallery’s indoor exhibition area over the summer months.

Outside in the sculpture garden, visitors can view the works by Berlin born artist Ralf Sander appearing in the ‘Transformations’ exhibition.

From Sunday 10 June, Quails café will offer an afternoon tea menu, which comprises a mouth-watering selection of gourmet sandwiches, pastries and cream scones along with tea or coffee – all for £6.95 per person.

Refreshments can be enjoyed in Quail’s café from 12 noon until 5pm whereas the indoor exhibition can be viewed from 1pm onwards.
