Community Festivals funding available

CONSTITUTED community and voluntary groups that wish to organise an event between August and December 2012 can now apply to Banbridge District Council’s Community Festivals Fund.

The Council will support a range of cultural, sporting or music events provided they are held within the district and promote social cohesion and inclusion, equality of opportunity and good relations.  Events should also promote a positive image of the district as well as increase visitor numbers to the area.

To be eligible for financial support, groups must be able to part fund their event and must not receive funding from another government programme.

Applications must be returned no later than 5pm on Wednesday 1 August and should be clearly marked ‘Community Festivals Fund Application’.

Application forms and guidance notes can be requested from Banbridge District Council on 4066 0605 or downloaded at www.banbridge.gov.uk

Applications will be assessed after the closing date and all applicants will be advised of the outcome in writing.

Further funding to support events from January 2013 onwards will be announced at a later date.

This grants programme is supported by the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure.
