Community Festivals Fund open to groups

BANBRIDGE District Council’s Community Festivals Fund is now open to local community and voluntary groups who wish to seek financial support to organise a festival or event in their area between 1 April and 31 August 2013.

The Community Festivals Fund is designed to support events that strengthen community relations, promote social cohesion and inclusion as well as ensure equality of opportunity. Events should also promote a positive image of the district as well as increase visitor numbers to the area.

A wide range of cultural, sporting, heritage and musical events or festivals are eligible for funding provided they are held within the district and applications come from formally constituted groups.

Application forms and guidance notes can be obtained from the Council’s Leisure and Development Department on T: 4066 0605, or alternatively they can be downloaded at www.banbridge.gov.uk.  The closing date for submitting completed applications is Friday 1 March at 5pm.

All applications will be assessed after the closing date and applicants will be notified in writing.

This Community Festival Fund is jointly funded by the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure and Banbridge District Council.
