Agnes was held in the highest regard by everyone who knew her

MRS Agnes Gray passed away at Craigavon Area Hospital on Sunday, January 6.

She was the dearly loved wife of David W. Gray. Agnes and David lived at 66 Ballygowan Park, Banbridge and formerly had resided at Castlewellan Road. Many people would have passed their home as they made their way to Newcastle.

Formerly Miss Agnes Bell, she was married to David on April 14, 1939, and had one daughter, Eileen.

She worked at Brookfield Factory and then in Walker’s and Ballydown Weaving and then she retired from Ballievey Bleaching when she was 65.

She died having reached the age of 92 years. She was a woman of a quiet and friendly disposition and was held in the highest respect by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her husband David, daughter Eileen, four grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

The funeral took place from William Bell and Co. Funeral Home on Wednesday when Captain Geoffrey Walmsley took the funeral service and gave an inspiring address.

The hymns ‘The Old Rugged Cross and ‘Safe In The Arms of Jesus’ were sung.

Miss Margaret Stevenson presided at the organ.

The interment took place in the New Cemetery.

Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu of flowers are being sent to William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for Paul’s Ward Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children.

William Bell and Co. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
